Samsung announced its updated line of home theater in a box (HTIB) systems for 2009. The new systems make the change from DVDs to Blu-ray.
Included in the new line-up are the Samsung HT-BD8200 Blu-ray Home Theater Sound Bar, the HT-BD7200 Blu-ray 2.1 channel Home Theater System, and the HT-BD1250 5.1 channel Blu-ray Home Theater System.
The three HTIBs are expected to available in the first half of 2009.

The Harmony 1100 universal remote control sports a customizable, 3.5" colour touchscreen.
Using the new Harmony software, users can select the commands they use most and put those features on the screen. For example, movie lovers can program the remote so the Play and Pause buttons are immediately available on the screen once a movie is started.

Vizio unveiled five new models to the XVT Series. The most important change is the switch to LED panels featuring 240Hz with Scanning Backlight and VIZIO's Smooth Motion II technology in the 55" VF551XVT. LED backlight technology provides better picture quality with 1,000,000:1 Mega Dynamic Contrast and allows for local dimming of specific portions of the screen. LED also provides faster response times and higher color saturation. It is also environmentally responsible because it is mercury-free.
